My love for Goldens started very innocently when my mother bought
our first golden retriever, a pet for our family in 1979 "Sequin" (Aust
Ch Leoline Golden Sequin C.D.) turned out to be my mothers dog and
was her foundation bitch which was the begining of Shogold Kennels.
I had to wait for 2 long yrs to finally get my first Golden
Retriever "Minyon" (Stonebow Mignonette).
My mother and I started breeding Goldens
together in 1982 under her prefix Shogold Golden Retrievers. Our
first litter was from Aust Ch Leoline Golden Sequin C.D. & Koorbrac
Thor and produced 8 puppies of which two were shown Aust Ch Shogold
Beau Geste & Aust Ch Shogold Zamara.
Minyon and I started competing in
child handlers in 1982 and when Beau was old enough we
competed together and finally won the Pal Junior Showman for
Handling at the Royal Brisbane Show in 1984.
After the Royal I continued to
show Minyon, Beau and Zamara and titled both Beau & Zamara. After Minyon
passed away I took ownership of a handsome male Golden Retriever Aust Ch Shogold Olympic
Marathon and together we have had some
great successes which has lead me to the point of starting to
breed myself.
Erthley's first Litter from Aust
Ch Shogold Olmypic Flame & Summergold Song N Dance was
born on the 16 July 2001. We have keep a
Dog from this litter Erthley Rogue River and to date he is
performing well.
Although we are new Erthley Golden
Retrievers history comes from some very strong lines and we
are endeavoring to keep producing Goldens of the same quality.
